Kristie and Matthew’s European garden wedding micro-wedding took place at Houston Oaks in Hockley, TX (just outside the city of Houston). The property is absolutely beautiful and we played off of the natural landscape to create a romantic garden-style floral aesthetic. Our color palette of soft peach, blue, yellow and lavender was accented with lush greenery to exude a soft and luxurious tone for the event.
We used a combination of southern smilax, ivy and other seasonal greens to accent the iron gate leading into the ceremony site.
A lush floral and green design was installed on the stone chapel wall. The design centered around two oversized vintage lanterns and set the perfect focal point for ceremony photos.
The ground meadow pieces designed to line the aisle (right) were moved into the reception space and placed at the front of the dinner table to create a focal point. We recommend repurposing items from your ceremony to your reception any time you can!
Delicate spray roses, gunni eucalyptus, and dried lavender went into these freshly fragrant boutonnieres for the gentlemen of the wedding party.
Kristie’s hand-tied bridal bouquet was designed with peonies, garden roses, standard roses, ranunculus and astilbe. We finished the bouquet with a modest greenery cascade to carry the European garden theme into the personal flowers.
Two large whitewashed concrete compotes contained garden-style floral arrangements. These were flanked by smaller petite arrangements and accented with loose greenery scattered throughout the center of the table. Candlesticks with taper candles completed the centerpiece decor.
Fresh greenery swags and “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signage decorated the newlyweds’ chairs.
